Its function is to store the heat energy produced by hot water producing devices and equipment, such as boilers, fireplaces, solar collectors, etc. for later use. In addition to the increase in efficiency and due to more complete combustion, the composition of the flue gas also improves, so fewer pollutants enter the atmosphere. The advantage of buffer tanks is significantly evident in the transitional period, when the thermal energy produced by the boiler is not needed. In such a case, the buffer tank stores the excess, so that the thermal energy produced is not lost. Another major advantage of using buffer tanks is the increase in comfort. In this way, the heated building can be extended for a longer period and more balanced heating can be ensured, thus requiring less attention to boiler monitoring.
